Women’s Tennis Tops Chestnut Hill in Season Opener
Emmitsburg, Md. (September 6, 2024)–Mount St. Mary’s ladies’s tennis opened the 2024-25 season with a 6-1 victory over Chestnut Hill on Friday afternoon on the Rooney Tennis Courts on campus.
The Mount took two doubles matches to safe the doubles level. Freshman Emma Perkins teamed with Margherita Trolese for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles whereas freshmen Venus Tang and Amari O’Brien mixed for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, Trolese downed Alison Isaac, 1-6, 6-1, 10-8 on the No. 1 singles positoin with Perkins recording a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles. Tang secured a win at No. 3 singles whereas O’Brien received in straight units at No. 4. Valentine Mudry rounded out the Mount’s scoring with a victory at No. 6 singles.
The Mountaineers are again in motion on the Bedford Cup on September 13-15.
