Stella Creasy ‘not intimidated’ after attack on her London office | Stella Creasy
The Labour candidate Stella Creasy has stated she won’t be intimidated after a window and door of her workplace in north-east London was smashed by an attacker.
Creasy, who’s standing once more for her former Walthamstow seat, posted CCTV images of a person wearing black who she stated had attacked the workplace with a hammer and sprayed it with graffiti.
“If you already know who that is please get up for democracy and are available ahead,” she wrote on X.
In one other assertion, Creasy wrote: “Message to whoever attacked my workplace final evening. You don’t intimidate me and also you don’t belong within the political course of.
“Similar as these circulating malicious and false leaflets. Police already on this to search out you – will press for the strongest penalties for such an anti-democratic assault and I do know Walthamstow gained’t be cowed or influenced by your violence both.”
A photograph of the workplace entrance she posted confirmed a sequence of cracks within the glass door and in one of many home windows, seemingly made by the hammer.
The Metropolitan police stated the assault appeared to have taken place between 3.10am and three.30am on Sunday, and that an pressing investigation was happening. They urged witnesses to come back ahead.
Det Supt Dion Brown stated: “It’s fully unacceptable for the workplace of one in all London’s potential parliamentary candidates to be focused on this approach.”
A Labour spokesperson stated: “We fully condemn any intimidation techniques in the direction of candidates of any get together. It’s important to our democracy that parliamentary candidates are capable of marketing campaign freely.”
Creasy’s seat is one in all Labour’s most secure, with a majority of greater than 30,000 on the final election. Whereas the motive for the assault is unknown, like a variety of Labour MPs in city seats Creasy has confronted stress over the get together’s stance on Gaza.
