Second place for Northallerton's Marc Scott at Great North Run

The 30-year-old – who turned the second Brit since 1985 to win the well-known race in 2021 – achieved a powerful time of 1:01:11 within the males’s elite race behind winner Abel Kipchumba. 

Scott – who lately relocated again to the UK from the US and welcomed son Albie 4 months in the past – was the one Brit to fall inside the high 5 of the 2024 race, forward of Sondre Moen in third, Filmo Tesfu in fourth and Evans Chebet in fifth.
