Jurgen Klopp stance on next job as England seek Gareth Southgate replacement | Football
Southgate announced on Tuesday that he is resigning as England boss after eight years in charge, claiming in a statement that āitās time for change, and for a new chapterā.
The Football Association now has just over seven weeks to appoint a full-time successor for Southgate ahead of Englandās Nations League match against the Republic of Ireland on September 7.
Klopp has emerged as one of the frontrunners to become Englandās next manager with former Chelsea boss Graham Potter named as the early favourite by bookmakers.
The German, who won seven major trophies including the Premier League and the Champions League during his nine-year stint at Liverpool, is currently available after leaving Anfield in May.
However, the FA is likely to face a tough task in convincing Klopp about taking the England job given that he ruled out managing another club or a nation for another year when explaining his decision to quit Liverpool in January.
āWhatever will happen in the future I donāt know now but no club, no country for the next year,ā Klopp said.
āNo other English club ever, I can promise that.ā

Klopp has now moved with his wife Ulla toĀ Majorca after purchasing a villa on the Spanish island two years ago.
āIāve dreamed of having a house in the south all my life. I like the weather, the climate, I like the people,ā Klopp said on the Willipedia podcast.
āThere are lots of things I like here and also people I already know. Itās not like Iām looking for new friends. I already have friends for life, and if some of them are here too, thatās cool.ā
When asked about his next move, Klopp said: āItās out of the question that Iāll stop working altogether. But I donāt see myself continuing at the same pace as before at the moment.
āA coach is a coach. And you do it with everything you have, or nothing at all. Thatās how I understand it. Now Iām taking my time off. How am I supposed to know how Iāll feel during or after the time off, and what I want to do then? I have no idea. Letās wait and see.ā
Earlier this month, Klopp was contacted about becoming the new manager of the United States national team but the 57-year-old turned down the approach.
