Former Louisville QB signing with Detroit Lions
Former College of Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is making his return to the NFL after retiring final 12 months.
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell confirmed Bridgewater is signing with the workforce Thursday, the Detroit Free Press reported. The NFL Community first reported the information.
The transfer marks Bridgewater’s second stint with the Lions. The 32-year-old quarterback joined the workforce as a backup to beginning quarterback Jared Goff within the 2023 season, later asserting plans to retire and pursue a profession in highschool teaching at Miami Northwestern, his alma mater.
In his first season teaching highschool ball, Bridgewater led his workforce to a 12-2 document, together with a powerful 41-0 win within the Class 3A state championship recreation.
In keeping with the Free Press, Campbell mentioned Bridgewater’s years of expertise within the league and prior time spent on the Lions makes him a priceless addition.
