Hollywood actor Steve Buscemi “is okay” after he was punched within the face by a person on a New York Metropolis avenue, his publicist has stated.

The 66-year-old was assaulted simply earlier than midday on Wednesday in Manhattan.

The Boardwalk Empire star was taken to a close-by hospital with bruising, swelling and bleeding to his left eye.

“Steve Buscemi was assaulted in mid-town Manhattan, one other sufferer of a random act of violence within the metropolis,” an announcement on Sunday from his publicist stated.

The New York Police Division stated there have been no arrests over the assault and the investigation continues.

The obvious random assault on the actor follows the same incident involving his Boardwalk Empire co-star Michael Stuhlbarg in March.

Stuhlbarg was hit behind the neck with a rock whereas strolling in Manhattan’s Central Park.

He chased his attacker, who was arrested and charged over the incident.
