F-35 crashes at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska as pilot ejects safely
An Air Power F-35 fighter jet crashed at Eielson Air Power Base in Alaska on Tuesday because the pilot ejected safely, officers stated.
The plane incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at roughly 12:49 p.m. and resulted in “vital plane injury,” based on a press release launched by 354th Fighter Wing Public Affairs.
The impression web site is understood to be on base throughout the fence line of Eielson Air Power Base, Alaska, officers confirmed.
In video of the crash, the plane may be seen falling from the sky whereas the pilot ejects from the aircraft earlier than the crash.
“The pilot is protected and has been transported to Bassett Military Hospital for additional analysis. Emergency crews are responding,” authorities stated.
Navy officers stated that stopping on the Richardson Freeway, the highway adjoining to Eielson AFB, “poses a security threat and impedes restoration efforts” and reminded those that federal legislation prohibits any pictures alongside that stretch of freeway.
“Our persons are our most vital useful resource, and we’re dedicated in making certain their security and safety,” stated Colonel Paul Townsend, commander of the 354th Fighter Wing. “I can guarantee you the US Air Power will conduct a radical investigation in hopes to attenuate the probabilities of such occurrences from occurring once more.”
