Rey Misterio Snr dead aged 66: Wrestling legend & uncle of WWE icon Rey Mysterio dies weeks after family tragedy

WRESTLING legend Rey Misterio Snr has died aged 66 – simply weeks after a household tragedy.

Misterio Snr, actual title Miguel Ángel López Días, was the uncle of WWE corridor of fame entrant Rey Mysterio.

The masked luchador began wrestling in 1976 and formally retired in 2009.

Mexican wrestling firm Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide introduced the tragic information on social media.

They mentioned: “We remorse the delicate demise of Miguel Ángel López Días, referred to as Rey Mysterio Sr.

“We ship our most honest condolences to his family members and lift our prayers to heaven for his everlasting relaxation.”

Misterio Snr was born in Tijuana, Mexico, in 1955 and began out as a boxer earlier than he turned to wrestling.

Misterio Snr’s demise comes simply weeks after Rey Mysterio’s dad Robert Gutierrez died aged 76.

Mysterio, 50, paid tribute to his father saying: “Father: thanks for giving me the life I’ve.

“You probably did greater than set the instance of the right way to love & keep a powerful marriage and father 4 boys, you had been the instance and handed each single time till your demise with flying colors.

“Wonderful husband, loving father, stunning grandfather, unimaginable son & brother, and wonderful father in legislation.”

Mysterio continues to be concerned with the WWE and not too long ago misplaced a bout when he was unmasked.

He not too long ago held the US Championship, which he later misplaced to Logan Paul at Crown Jewel.
