Washington Village shows off its ‘flower power’ for competition judges
Washington Village has welcomed the Britain in Bloom judges because it celebrates Washington’s sixtieth anniversary.
The village goes head-to-head with eight others throughout the UK within the Finest Village class of Britain in Bloom, representing the North East space from Berwick to North Yorkshire and throughout to the Cumbria border.
Washington Village has had earlier success within the competitors, choosing up the Finest Village award and being named total winner in Northumbria in Bloom in 2021.
A group of 20 volunteers welcomed the judges at this time (Wednesday 14 August) with a 1960’s ‘Flower Energy’ themed celebration – a nod to each Washington’s sixtieth anniversary and the sixtieth anniversary of the Northumbria in Bloom and Britain in Bloom competitors.
