‘Shrek 5’ to open in July 2026 with original key cast | News
Common Photos has set a July 1 2026 launch date for DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek 5 that includes unique solid members Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz.
The date announcement offers the celebrated animation franchise a five-day July Fourth US vacation weekend launchpad and marks the primary entry within the 23-year-old collection since Shrek Without end After got here out in 2010.
Myers voices the eponymous inexperienced ogre, whereas Diaz, who has returned to appearing after a protracted lay-off, performs his love Princess Fiona, and Murphy is Shrek’s sidekick, Donkey.
The studio revealed the information on social media. It follows current feedback by Murphy throughout the press tour for Netflix’s Beverley Hill Cop: Axel F, when he stated he had already recorded traces for the upcoming characteristic and anticipated a Donkey spin-off, à la Puss In Boots.
Shrek 5 will likely be directed by Walt Dohrn of the Trolls franchise, who labored on the second and third movies as a author and artist, and served as head of story on the fourth movie. Brad Ableson, who directed Minions: The Rise Of Gru, is co-director.
