2024 Election: Trump wins 2nd term as president : NPR

RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina Democratic Lawyer Common Josh Stein has gained the state’s race for governor, based on a race name by the Related Press.
Stein defeated Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, whose marketing campaign cratered after CNN reported that he’d posted pro-slavery, pro-Nazi feedback on a pornographic web site. Robinson, who had been endorsed by former President Trump, has denied writing the posts – saying they had been faked – and is suing CNN for defamation.

Stein will take over in January from two-term Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper, who was term-limited from working once more. He has been the state’s legal professional normal since 2017, and he beforehand served within the state Senate. Stein, 58, grew up in Chapel Hill, the place his father co-founded the state’s first built-in regulation agency. He shall be North Carolina’s first Jewish governor.
