2 pilots dead after small plane crashes into building near Honolulu airport

Two pilots have been killed when a small aircraft crashed into an deserted constructing close to Daniel Ok. Inouye Worldwide Airport in Honolulu on Tuesday afternoon, unleashing flames and black smoke. 

A Kamaka Air Cessna 208 was conducting a coaching flight when it crashed into the constructing round 3:15 p.m. native time Tuesday, Ed Sniffen, the director of Hawaii’s Division of Transportation, instructed reporters. 

“It’s not a constitution flight; it was a coaching flight,” Sniffen stated. “Two souls have been on board. Each perished.”

The constructing, owned by the Transportation Division, was vacant.

Sniffen famous that the pilots, in accordance with witnesses, prevented “fairly a little bit of buildings, together with our gas farm, to attenuate the impacts.”

The Nationwide Transportation Security Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the reason for the crash.

Witnesses reported seeing the small aircraft flying low, then listening to a loud growth, adopted by plumes of smoke.

And I went, ‘Oh, he’s actually, actually low,’ and he began banking and going again in direction of the airport, after which I heard a loud bang,” witness Nancy Timko instructed KHNL.
